In late 2008, Stanford Pediatric Emergency Department told Art in Action about their wish to display children's art for their young patients and invited us to help with this project. We invited all Art in Action students to participate in an art contest, which created great interest. 148 students from 35 Art in Action schools participated with 228 artworks. The artworks were reviewed by Art in Action staff and a 10-person Judging Committee, who selected 17 winning artworks for display, see below. Congratulations to all participants who made this contest a great success!

Happy Trails by Rachael Howard, 5th Grader at Highlands Elementary School, San Mateo. My drawing, "Happy Trails", was inspired by my love of horseback riding and a horse named "Skip." I love Art in Action because it teaches kids about famous artists from all over the world and it lets us figure out if we have a special talent or not. But to me, I think all of the pictures are beautiful! |
