Mara Grimes, Program Manager

Mara Grimes, the Program Manager at Art in Action, is an experienced Art in Action trainer, curriculum writer, and school coordinator. She is responsible for assisting the Program Director with docent training and helping schools maintain their art programs. She works on revising and evaluating the Art in Action curriculum to ensure that it meets state and national standards, and she is also our grant writer.

Mara is a graduate of Notre Dame de Namur where she earned her multiple subject teaching credential. She has worked in her children's schools developing a Literacy Month program, serving on Site Council and PTA Boards, coordinating the Performing Arts for Youth Program, and substitute teaching. She currently serves on the board of the Peninsula Arts Council. When not at school or work she loves to dabble in art, travel, garden, read, listen to music, cook, hike, and take long walks on the beach with her family and their dog.
