Judy Sleeth, Executive Director

Judy Sleeth is the founder and Executive Director of Art in Action. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Master in Education program at UCLA. In 1982 she created the Art in Action Program to inspire children’s love of art. Judy believes that art is an important part of every child’s education, engaging children in their learning and building critical thinking skills and creativity, which are essential for success in school and the workplace.

Judy is a docent at the Cantor Art Center at Stanford University and serves on the board of the Peninsula Arts Council. She has taught 3rd through 12th grade in public and private schools. She taught history, English, and art history at Castilleja School in Palo Alto, CA. She was named Arts Educator of the Year in 2008 by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. Judy is passionate about enriching education through the arts.
