Atelier 2012

Art in Action's 4th annual event, Atelier d’Artistes, will feature a spring luncheon, student art demonstrations, and silent auction on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, CA.

Flo Oy Wong, nationally acclaimed visual storyteller and installation mixed media artist, will share her stories and artistic experiences. Carolyn Johnson, co-anchor of ABC7 News, will serve as mistress of ceremonies for the event. A silent auction with unique products and services, including special private art tours and original artwork created by local artists will be highlighted in the auction. Student artists will create their own mixed media narratives inspired by Art in Action’s lesson on Ms. Wong, and guests are invited to make one too.

Atelier d'Artistes 2011

275 guests attended Art in Action's 3rd annual event, Atelier d’Artistes, which featured a spring luncheon, artist and student art demonstrations, and silent auction for supporters of Art in Action on Monday, March 7, 2011 at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, CA.

Internationally acclaimed sculptor Fletcher Benton shared his artistic experiences at the luncheon. Fran Eastman, Edward Goodstein, and the Goodstein Foundation were honored for their contributions to the arts and to Art in Action. Carolyn Johnson, co-anchor of ABC7 News, served as mistress of ceremonies for the event. Local artists demonstrated their techniques, shared stories with guests, and offered finished masterpieces for purchase. Student artists from Orion School in Redwood City, CA created artwork inspired by the Art in Action lesson on Charles Demuth.

A silent auction with many exciting products and services was included.

Atelier d'Artistes 2010


More than 250 guests attended Art in Action's 2010 annual event, Atelier d'Artistes, which featured an art show and spring luncheon at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, CA. Thanks to all of you who have helped make Art in Action and this event so successful.

Special guest speaker Bruce Beasley, an internationally acclaimed sculptor, shared his artistic experiences and deep insights into the creation of art. Read The San Mateo Daily Journal article. San Mateo County Arts Coordinator Dick Sperisen, who has been working more than 50 years to ensure that students in San Mateo County receive an arts education, was given special recognition.

Six local California artists demonstrated their techniques, shared stories with guests, and offered finished masterpieces for purchase. Student artists from Henry Ford Elementary School in Redwood City demonstrated a painting project inspired by painter Wayne Thiebaud and told the audience what makes art special for them. Atelier d'Artistes 2008

Art in Action's 2008 fundraiser, Atelier d’Artistes, featured an art show and spring luncheon on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club. Featured guest speaker Laura Regan, an internationally acclaimed wildlife artist, shared photos and describing how teachers, her dad, and friends gave her the confidence and tools that inspired her beautiful paintings of rain forest animals. Six prominent California artists painted acrylic still lifes, oil and pastel portraits, and landscapes in oil and watercolor. These talented artists shared their techniques and stories with guests, and offered finished masterpieces for purchase. An art boutique and silent auction featured artwork, jewelry, books, children's toys, wine, gifts and other exciting products. Original student artwork was displayed, following a gallery show and exhibition at the Atherton Fine Art Gallery.
