Wild World of Animals — ARTcamp Summer 2009

Art in Action's popular ARTcamps are weeklong summer art classes held for small groups of students ages 5-9 in an exciting, nurturing environment. Students learn new skills, use a variety of media, and extend their understanding of art concepts. Summer ARTcamp curriculum differs from Art in Action’s school program curriculum, covering new artists and exploring different approaches. Daily projects incorporate a variety of skills and techniques, with an emphasis on each child creatively expressing his or her unique ideas.

This year, explore the Wild World of Animals from puppies and fish to lizards and bugs! Create your own masterpieces inspired by Matisse, Klee, Gauguin and other artists. Projects include 3-D animals, nature weaving, fish printing and group mural. Design a sketchbook and pet portfolio to proudly display your artwork. Bring a daily snack and be ready to have fun. An Art in Action t-shirt is provided. Art in Action's ARTcamps take place in many Peninsula/SF Bay Area locations from June 22-July 31, 2009.

Parents about ARTcamp:

“My kids love this camp. They started in kindergarten and have gone every year since. It has become a summer tradition. It nicely compliments their art curriculum at school. I like that they get an art history component along with multiple art projects in one day. It is not just "crafty" art projects.”

“This was my son's favorite camp last summer. He enjoyed learning about all the different art projects from around the world. He will be attending again this summer.”

“This is a wonderful non profit organization that has over 8 weeks of summer camps available for children in kindergarten to 4th grade. The kids spend the day exploring their creativity with different art projects from painting to sculpting the fun is endless.”
