Art in Action Receives Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund Grant

Art in Action, the Bay Area’s leading provider of Visual Art Programs, has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund. The grant will expand the Art in Action’s Visual Arts program at Costano Elementary School located in East Palo Alto. Costano launched the Art in Action program in 2006 and will be able to continue its success in the 2007-08 school year and be able to offer Art in Action to more students due to the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday Fund grant. 

The generous support from community-minded organizations such as the Palo Alto Weekly Holiday fund enable local elementary students, who otherwise would have little access to art to receive a Visual Art education. The program enriches the students’ education and inspires their learning and creativity. 

The Art in Action program is based on the Great Masters in which students learn to identify art styles and techniques. Students create their own masterpieces based on their growing understanding of the world of art. Art in Action provides schools with Visual Arts curriculum for K-8 grades and summer ARTcamp throughout San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. Art in Action currently serves 18,000 K-8 students in over 65 schools.
